Kroger v. Harris-Teeter on senior discounts

What does it say about Kroger v. Harris-Teeter that while both have loyalty cards, only Kroger automatically recognizes that a card holder is a "senior" and entiteld to a 5% discount that day; at Harris-Teeter, for the same discount on Thursdays, the customer has to be ask or be asked before it is applied ot the bill?

"Beefsteak | SUNSET® Produce - Goodness Grown Naturally™"

I bought a box of these yesterday at COSTCO. There is a lot on the box about the Green Grass Project but nothing about these tomatoes. Do they come from Canada? Where and how are they grown? Etc........ Before finishing this, I notice that the identificaiton comes up as "greenhouse" which was my assumption, but why wouldn't the vendor want to tell us that directly on the packaging?

LAND O LAKES® Half & Half

I thought of buying a big box of the Mini Moos on this page yesterday at COSTCO. I did not for two reasons. One was that I would have had to buy nearly 200 of the single servings and that seemed like too many to test out the product. Second, I wondered about the environmental cost in all those discarded containes when one can buy the ame amout of cream in a single container. Then I found a third reason - there appears to be no link on the manufacturer's website to any detailed information about the product!

French and no Spanish?

Why is it (I am assuming it is because of Canada) that we see only French in addition to English on so many food labels? Why do we very rarely see Spanish in addition to English?

Le Qaulite Toute l'Annee

The region (call it a state if you like) in which I live part of the time in Southeastern France is called Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur. For some time, the farmers here have been running television adds that promote local produce, saying that they represent "quality all through the year". Can we say that about NC produce?

Here's the website for the region here in France - they use another phrase that rings quite true "terre de gou" or the land of taste. NC?

"Le Gout de Vivre Moins Cher"

This is the motto of proprietary label discount food chain here in France - Leader Price, part of the giant Casino group. Roughly trasnlated, it means "The Taste to Live More Cheaply". How many places in NC combine these two notions of eating well and eating less expensively. Perhaps it is one of those differences that exist between France and the US?
